Default Aiptasia Killin'....

I generally don't take joy in the killing of anything. But I knew I'd enjoy this, and had to record it

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IaNMkm7rFBA

P.S. First aiptasia I've ever had in my tank. Grrr. Nuked two of them tonight...I hope it worked.

I have to admit I have no idea what an Aiptasia is, but I DID get a good laugh out of "roomate dancing to Whitney Houston".

Hope it works for you.

The only way I can get them so they don't come back is turn of the pumps, then feed a little kalk paste mixed with mysis juice.

In most applications, yes. Some people use them in sumps as part of a benthic zone, for filtration....yada yada yada.

But generally speaking, yes--bad.

They can be, they can spread and give a nasty sting to other corals or fish that get too close, but they are also a beneficial filter feeder.
