Default Hermit Crap Wierdness

Ok, I got home just now to a puzzling site.. i had a dead hermit crab (just the body part) on one of my fake plants.. Yet, all three of my hermits are still alive, so WHAT THE HECK IS THIS?.. im confused.. any ideas?.. LOL.. thanx.. I mean, it was the whole part of the hermit that comes outta the shell. But they are all still there and alive.. arrgg.. maybe im missing something.. any ideas would be appreciated.. Thanx

You need to provide them lots of empty shells all different sizes. Without a variety of shells to choose from they will take shells from other crabs.
