![]() Just a quickie. What would happen were I to use two micron pre-filters and one carbon filter instead of one micron pre-filter and two carbon filters?

![]() I dont really nderstand what your asking. Shouldnt your RO/DI go micron-->carbon-->ro membrane-->DI? Assuming its a normal ro/di unit, not some kind of crazy 12 stage unit.
What kind of unit are you using.

![]() Sounds like a 5 stage unit with 3 pre-RO membrane filter cartridges. Perhaps the dual carbon is to ensure that no chlorine or any other type of chemical gets to the RO membrane? I know Chlorine kills the membrane pretty quickly.

![]() Yeah, I guess I should have clarified that. It's an aquasafe unit with three pre-filter cartridges. When I took it apart, there was one micron pre-filter and two carbon filters. After those three, it runs through the RO membrane and then the DI cartridge.
