Default Acrylic Rod?

Well Just did some Aqua shaping today
and the right side of the tank seems a bit bare to me

so i was planning to stack live rock to get the effect of the begining of finding nemo For those that havnt seen it or just dont know what im talking about
they look like hoodos Like what is in drumheller (alberta)
and wanted to drill small holes in the center of this rock and connect it with pvc or something to get stability but cant find any that small
Asked the fish store dude he told me acrylic rod but dont know were to find any in edmonton.
Any other materials that would be small enough and non toxic?

most plastics should be safe. I once read of someone cutting up plastic coat hangers to peg rocks together.

Good luck
