![]() I prefer a true perc simply for their looks. I believe they are the same in terms of care. You might have better luck with tank raised however.

![]() ocellaris is definitely much easier to keep and hardier than true perculas. However most people like percula for their look (especially the darker variants or stranger patterned ones - onyx, picasso etc.)
wrt tank raised, ocellaris grows much faster than percula. On average it takes an t.r. ocellaris to reach maturity at around 1-1.5 yrs and 3 yrs+ for t.r. percs.
