aqua c remora protein skimmer

I am thinking of buying a aqua c remora pro hang on protein skimmer. And I'm just woundering what everyone thinks of them are they any good?

i love mine, noisy in the beginning. took mine about 3 weeks before it quieted down. definitely use the paper towel mod over top of the intake pipe and reduces the sound about 75%.

paper towel mod? any specifics as to how to do it?

if you take the collection cup right out and on the side where the intake tube comes in and points down, over this you take a full square of paper towel and fold it up tightly so it fits just over top of this pipe and just below the collection cup. then i just replace the paper towel each time i clean the cup because the towel gets all wet. i initially tried with a sponge but the paper towel does a way better job.

I've been using this mod on mine for a long time now. It find it works best if I moisten the paper towel before putting it in.. blocks out much more sound.
