![]() I'm thinking of putting a false wall in my new 66 gal to create a 3-4 inch area behind where I can hide all my stuff (only have 10 gal sump/fuge full of chaeto), including all my powerheads which are controlled by my wave machine. Obviously I'll still need some loc-line or something to put the flow back into the main tank, but it should clear up a lot of visibility. I was thinking the entire wall could be an overflow. Not sure if I need to completely seal the sides and bottom or if some gaps would be ok/beneficial.
Any comments and suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks,

![]() If its just going to be a hiding spot for the in-tank equipment then there should be no need to totally seal it. On the other hand, you could create a sort of overflow/sump out of it by sealing it off. If you choose to just make it loose fitting, I'd suggest making an arragacrete panel(s) that would fit the tank.

![]() Thanks, not sure what you mean by "arragacrete panel(s)" though.

![]() If the sides aren't sealed you won't be getting an overflow type of effect.

![]() Hi Kryten,
Here's a link to another forum where I posted a step by step account of my 75G. project. In it I built a false wall using eggcrate to which I zip tied my L.R. (you have to scroll through the post till you hit that particular section). http://www.aquahobby.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=29175 ________ 599 Last edited by Dale; 01-21-2011 at 01:22 PM. |

![]() Cool, thanks you guys. Harv, I'd love to come and take a look at your tank in person one of these days.
