![]() So ,I want to cut 0.5inch glass. I've got 6'x2'x2' , and now I want to chop it all up. It's not tempered , and thier's no plastic (no fire). Then I'd like to drill? "looking for postive NOT negative reinforcement" Thanks and Happy New Year ,Nano

![]() A buddy of mine zipped through some 1/2" glass with a wet tile saw. Slow and steady...I've also had another friend to the score and snap technique....sometimes that worked, sometimes it didn't.
As for drilling, 1/2" glass is super easy to drill as it is so hard to crack IME. |

![]() I just finished cutting 4 holes for my 65gal tank with the "el cheapo" dremel bits from Lee Valley. I'm also going to cut a few panels of 1/4" glass here shortly to make the internal overflow. Good luck with your project and enjoy it.

![]() Too bad there wasn't a bargain bin. I'd be in there everyday. It's their everyday low price of $14.00.

![]() The powerfist brand ones from princess auto work really well also - kits run under 20$ (the 8pc kit i'm using was like 9$)

![]() Are the tanks tempered? If it is, then don't do it. If not, and you are confident enough, then go for it.

![]() If you know the brand name of the aquarium, e-mail the manufacturer. They'll be able to tell you everything you need to know. I was in the same position with my 65gal Perfecto. They sent me a reply with glass thicknesses and whether or not I'd be able to drill the number of holes, size of holes, hole spacing that I wanted to have.
