![]() Hi all,
Wanted to share the latest photo's of my clownfish laying eggs. To give you a bit of background, these guys have been laying eggs about every 2 - 3 weeks for the last couple months. They always lay the eggs in the same location, right at the front of the glass for easy viewing. You can set your watch by them for when a new batch is coming, it's like clockwork with these two ![]() 1st shot - The location. Always on the magnet underneath the anemone. The anemone was just fed, so that is why he is a lot more closed up than normal ![]() 2nd Shot - Before they lay eggs, they always go through the same ritual of preparing the surface. It looks like they clean the area, but who knows ![]() 3rd Shot - You can see the eggs starting to appear ![]() 4th Shot - Mom laying down even more eggs ![]() 5th Shot - The latest batch all done. Sorry this pic was blurry, I'll try and get a better shot tonight ![]() |

![]() yep the anemone is a Ritteri. It is hard to tell from the picture, but when he is fully open he has about a 14" diameter. He has been in the tank for just over a year now, and doing extremly well

![]() That's great... good to hear your having success with it!
Have you ever thought of raising the fry? Or no intentions to?

![]() with ever batch of eggs my wife asks me the same thing. We currently only have the one tank setup, and really do not have the room or time it would take to raise the fry.

![]() Hey congrats.I envy you.I wish mine would do that they they got divorced. The male moved out from the female and he has his own bachelors pad now.But The pics are awesome though it is different that they did it sooo close to the glass. They ussually like to hide as they are soooo protective of their young.Well I know a guy in Van that raised his fry and he says it wasnt that hard to do.And he did it just in one 33 gal tank and he succeeded with it.Only 10% lived but he still did it.He never sold any he decided to keep them all.So he has 180gal with just clownfish
