![]() Shouldn't be too hard to do... you may just have problems with microbubbles though.
What I've seen quite a few people do is place a container (ie. bucket) into the rubbermaid sump, and have the drain water feed that to help eliminate microbubbles. A few other people connect rubbermaid containers in series (via. bulkheads and pvc) to further eliminate microbubbles. A fuge can be added to the sump via another container within the rubbermaid sump... (like a smaller rubbermaid container). All you'd need to do is to cut a few slots within the smaller rubbermaid container for water flow. Adding baffles to rubbermaid containers is a pita... if not nearly impossible. I'd highly recommend going with a "container within a container" type of setup. -Rich |

![]() I had a Rubbermaid sump for a good while. Workes well. I had the skimmer, pumps and heaters all in a 2x2.5' container, as for the bubble issue, I used sheets of plastic to surround the intake of the return pump, which eliminated them. Its a great way to do a mechanical sump on a cheap budget.

![]() I have it and I am not happy. I did not use rubbermaid tho, I used somekind that Canadian Tire had and when I filled them up with water they were bowing out.
Part of my new upgrade include 2 Rubbermaid 70g Stock tanks. They are made to hold water and I know it will be the best way to go. However you need lots of room. |

![]() 3000gph thru a rubbermaid sump == bad idea
![]() I wouldn't try to achieve more than 100 unless you want a crazy headache from trying to eliminate microbubbles..
