Default Tank automation anyone?

I am just testing the waters on this right now.....
I used to work for GE Fanuc/Total Control Products and one of our product lines was the GLC100. We eventualy stopped selling them and I was the designated support guy for them. We had a few of the units in support and I managed to talk my manager in to donating one to my aquarium automation project

Well automating my aquarium has taken a back seat to family and other mor important endevors. I would like to do a bit of horse trading for some equipment that I need.
http://www.profaceuk.com/products/gl...lc13_spec2.htm

What I have: (worth 2-3K US)

GLC100 color touch screen with 12 discrete (on/off) inputs and 12 outputs
(all I/O is 24 VDC)
Download cable for connecting to your PC
Programming Software

The software has 2 components
The graphical portion which is used to put the pretty pictures on the screen
The logic portion which controls the I/O and interfaces with the screen
It uses Ladder Logic as its programming language
24VDC switching power supply

What I need

Skimmer for 230 gal tank
Calcium reactor and associated hardware

any of you acrylic ninjas interested in doing some trading?

Joel

Ok hopefully I can make this a little clearer

The unit is a 6" touch screen with 12 discrete (on off) inputs and outputs.

cutrrently this is all I have for I/O

What this means to y'all is that you can create logic for things such as
auto top off or your lights to turn on and off or for pumps to stop/start
and then have a grapical representation of this on the screen

eg you can run 2 floats in to the unit and create logic so that an output turns on when the bottom float trips and off when the top float trips and then if you use a 24vdc realay you could turn on and off a top up pump

You can also turn things on and off from the screen.

There is a company called sensorpulse that makes modules that allow you to convert 2 discrete inputs in to an analog input but I haven't had chance to play with this.

This isn't a plug and play aquarium thing but once ya get it running the geek factor will be waaaay up there

the programming logic is ladder logic and I could give anyone a hand with getting started programming.

Sorry i had a look throug the specs and looks like this device needs 24VDC for it's own power and probably uses that to power all the I/O or all all the outputs dry contacts? So where is all the I/O located, remote or is it on back side of the terminal.

Looks like I nice toy. I keep waiting to get my hands on a Series 50 or 70 rack already 120V capable.

I believe that the outputs are powered but I would have to confirm this....I do have a 24 VDC power supply for it.

The I/O is located on the back of the unit
