Default Dory's in Jail.....

I picked up a tiny blue tang last night, saving her from the evil waters in Pet Cetera. She seemed quit healthy as I acclimated her into the tank. Then my blue damsel found her....he immediately began to flash his ridge spikes and attacked her to the point that I could see tiny 1/2 round white scratches. Not wanting to lose my new baby, I manged to net her. I was hoping to catch him and banish him to the sump for a few days, but he's way to fast.

So for now Dory (of course) is in jail in my wife's salad spinner floating in the tank, with a piece of LR. I put a shade over top to protect her from the MH lights. The spinner allows water to flow through and the fish to see each other. The blue damsel is still hanging around and flashing her.

Pics of Dory in Jail.....

Dory ate a bit of Brine shrimp this morning and seems to be happily floating around, no worse for wear.

How long can/should I keep her in here?
Will the Damsel eventually stop picking on her?
Or should I try the bottle trap with some brine shrimp and banish him to the sump for a few weeks? Then he'll be the new guy on the block again.

Any comments/suggestions would be appreciated.

I would arrest the damsel and throw him in the sump for a couple of weeks.

Score Human:1 Damsel:0 He fell for the pop bottle trap and is now living down in the sump. There is a green brittle star down there so hes gonan have to watch himself, but then I've been reading up on damsel's tonight and one fellow has one living in his octopus tank. They seem to be fast hardy lil buggers.

Dory is cruising around the 90 now and getting used to her new digs. She has a few spots of Ick, but it must send out some radar signal as my cleaner shrimp has been up out of the rock work all night trying to get his hands on her. She not to keen on it yet, but I'm sure she'll figure out pretty quick that he's there to help her.

So glad Dory's out of jail. I always hate to see the inocent pay for the crimes of the hooligans. I still can't figure out why they are called damsels. There's nothing lady like about them at all. (OK I deliberatly avoided the B word here! )

WHOA! We almost took that little tiny tiny Regal home because we felt sorry for it...being soooo small! Good luck to you and it!

Those tiny Regals are wonderful fish. If only they would not grow so fast.

They wouldn't grow so fast if they weren't such pigs! Mine was a bit bigger than a toonie when I got it 2 months ago, now its almost two inches!
