![]() a few days ago i had a heater fail in the on position
ironic since there was just a thread about that tank went over 90 clownfish, damsels, mushrooms, polyps all seem okay xenia melted off rocks and became mush on floor and were siphoned out here is the question devils hand, toadstool and cabbage all are shrivelled and look like crap no expansion or tissue movement very hard and shrivelled no mushy tissue at all been 4 days now so are they dead and should i chuck them to prevent an ammonia spike nitrates still reading okay |

![]() I'd say if they aren't mushy, they may still be fine. Watch them, but don't toss them yet.

![]() Never count anything out. I have always had the attitude that if it dies the skimmer will be able to handle the load. So wait it out

![]() I've had leathers that didn't send out polyps for weeks, even months & still recovered. Cabbage are also one of the hardiest corals.

![]() thanks for the advices
toadstool showing a scattered few polyps cabbage and devil hand very tight and hard still on the plus side both still producing that mucous coat overnight that sloughs off in the morning could have been much worse think i'll go with the guy who suggested 2 undersized heaters on a tank to prevent this kind of problem |
