![]() Hello All......
![]() Has anybody taken apart a Gen-x Mak-4 not just the impeller part but rite back to the moter itself. Can it be done???? Reason being it is very noisy and I have oiled the bearings by the fan, think I need to get inside now ![]() it runs rite next to another Mak-4 and is twice the volume Thanks

![]() So oiling the fan didn't help? How old is the one making the noise? Before I used my older one I took apart the impellar assy and soaked it in vinegar to get rid of the calcium build up ( which was making a noise). When I did that I think the front magnet was exposed so you might be able to get at the rest of the pump that way. I think with mak 4s it seems to be hit or miss with a noisy unit. My new mak is very quiet. I might sell my 1 year old one for a $100 or keep it for a back up and just buy a new one.
I realy like the mak 4s and I am impressed at their preformance and low power consumtion. I hope you can fix your problem. Keep us up to date on your progress. Regards

![]() thanks for your help hockey nut
I think taking it apart is my last option since you have the same pumps, could you send me your real e-mail and then I could send you a video of it and you will be able to hear the sound it makes. You may have another idea for me. you have a PM thanks again
