Default DI Resin Algae?

Is it possible for algae to grow in DI Resin? I have an aqua safe unit with 3 clear DI resin containers and it seems to me they have turned red inside of them? Water still reads 0 tds. Any thoughts?

The DI resin itself will change colour over time as it is used, usually to a rusty red or brownish orange... Or are you meaning the inside lining of the RI container?

The colour is very red. It kinda looks like red jello or something. I guess I will just have to open it up and see if it's slime filled.
