Default New Metal Halides

HI, and thanx in advance all. I am removing my current lights-(2 - 220 watt pcts- 4actinic, and 4 10000k) and changeing it over to ( 2 96 watt pc actincs, 2 - 150 watt hqi and 3 led moonlights) I know the mh provide way more lumens than pc bulb, so I do not want to shock my corals/fish. SO if anyone has a good idea of a new lighting schedule so I can introduce my new mh's would appreciate it. Do I just run the actincts for a few hours and the mh for 1 hour and increse by a half hour everyday ???? Any advice would b appreciated.

Adie

do a search on my posts on aclimating corals to new lights and I recomend going with a 1 hour on one hour off and repete. then every 3 or 4 days add 15 min to the on cycle and minus the 15 min from the off cycle.

when one gets down to the 1:45 ON and 0:15 OFF cycle, that's enough time in between (15 min) for the bulbs to cool down before firing up again?
turns out it is.

Default lighting

OK so I got the acclimation procedure from a previous thread of your stircrazy (thanx), now this procedure is used specifically for the MH's, do i then leave the acctincs on for the whole period while the mh's turn on and off through out the day??

Also how badly will this stress out my fish should I b worried???

actinics on all day, as they are not changing, and don't worry about the fish
