Default Pumps: Cross Contamination?

I use an old 900 GPH Fluval pump to remove water from my aquarium, then use the same pump to move water from the mixing station to the aquarium. Since this pump is so powerful, I also use it to move fresh RODI water to the mixing station.

Should I be concerned about cross contamination? Do you use separate pumps between your water storage containers?

Drain your hose prior to using for ro waters you want. The only contamination may be salt but shouldn't be enough to worry about

Thanks for the replies. I havent't seen anything bad happen so I didn't think there would be a problem. Thanks for confirming my suspicions.

I usually soak the pump in some RODI water for a few minutes before I move water from the RODI container to the mixing container. Whether or not that makes a difference I don't know.
