![]() Hey guys,
Anyone know what tool I need to cut and or put a new connector on this. This is for a new vanity we are installing. It is pex plumbing but it looks like they used plastic crimp rings???? Should I just cut it where I need to and put a metal crimp ring on it? How did they connect the pex to the fitting if that is not a crimp ring. Didn't know they made plastic ones???? Tony? Did you say you have a crimping tool? Thanks in advance. ![]()

![]() Yeah the builders use some kind of magic heat ray instead of a metal crimper like mere mortals have to use. Just cut it and crimp the new piece on. I do have a crimper you can borrow if you want, but I'm away until Sunday, can you wait that long?

![]() I believe the fitting in the pic uses a tool that expands the ring which then shrinks back down around the tubing locking it onto the fitting, no heat or crimp.

![]() If you just need to cut it off and put it back on go to Home Depot and get a 1/2" push on connector no crimping required.
