Default RLSS DC 6000

I switched my sump to external so I could run one of these. Anyone else running one?

Thanks. I plan on running the 6000 external also. Should be enough to feed my system and a bit for the refugium and perhaps a dribble for my reactor...

http://waveline-recall.info/index.html

Is this old news or something to be cautious about?

I havent seen this yet & will be looking into it as well. One thing to do with any DC pump IMO is to have a way to keep the power supply reasonably cool like I did with my new tank.

With DC pumps, the pumps themselves are not required to be UL or CE certified as they run on low voltage that can't or won't kill you. It's the power supplies that run on 120V that need to be tested and certified so that's what carries the certification.

I think the issue with DC pumps has been that putting UL or CE marks on the box implies that everything in the box is certified but that's not the case.

saw that guys petition on reefbuilders this summer. Here is a link to the original story and their reply to it.

http://reefbuilders.com/2013/08/22/a...es-ul-listing/

http://reefbuilders.com/2013/08/23/c...-recall-issue/

if you don't like reading here is my summary of it:

they (rlss) listed UL on the box because they have UL rating for the 120v components that run the pump(power supply) but did not realize that to put UL on the box all items inside must comply with the UL standards (even the low voltage ones).

they are in the process of getting low voltage stuff tested so they can display the UL correctly. But thus far all the new pumps i have gotten have had a sticker over the previously printed UL.

if anyone has any specific questions i can ask RLSS directly please feel free to post
