Default aquasafe ro unit high tds

i set up a new aquasafe ro/di unit two days ago and the tds is still at 200ppm. is there a break in period or is it possible the ro membrane could be faulty ?

I have the aquasafe ro/di unit. My well water is at about 420 ppm, unit strips to about 10 ppm. Do you have the auto shut-off and flush valve?
You might have a faulty membrane. Mine was working right off the start. When I was on town water at approx. 185 ppm unit stripped to about 2ppm.

what the TDS is after the unit (before the di) is the important number.

With the reject rates of membranes being 90-99% depending on type, the output should be at least 20.

I would suspect membrane. It should be bringing the TDS down to <10 within a couple minutes. That said, how long are you waiting? At startup there is typically a "TDS surge" which can last anywhere from 5-10 minutes. Usually what I do is flush the membrane for a good 5 minutes and then check the TDS. If it's still 200ish after 5-10 minutes though, then the membrane is toast.

is the output on the connector with the check valve? how is the flush valve positioned (should be 90° to the line)?.
