I have had the same issue ever since I added the battery back up to my Gyre. I have the icecap controller which will pwr the gyre at 30% from the battery when pwr is lost. Trouble is when my auto feeder goes off my Apex programing cuts the gyre pwr and then the backup kicks in! 30% on the Gyre 150 is still a whole lot in my 100 gal display. My solution, so far I just live with it, as I am not smart enough to figure it out! The fish have to swim hard for their food! Love a solution, so I will watch this thread carefully.

Yea I'll have to see how it goes, the gyre will turn off the mp10 and mp40 will both be at low power mode so fish have to work a bit for the food (maybe it will be good for them lol)

I never use feed mode - the fish catch the food just fine. Do you think the waves shut off in the ocean or the prey sits still for them to catch it?
Some people do shut off the return pump though, and I could see how that could be beneficial to keep food out of the sump/filtration. |

Yea it's funny sometimes I shut it off other times I just toss it in , I find with if I feed pellets or flakes ( which isn't much mostly use frozen) it gives them more chance before it goes into the overflow
But no matter guess from now on they will have to be quick
