1 of 2 things will generally happen when you dont have an overflow box.
1. you flood your floor 2. It will be extremely noisy why not just do a low profile overflow box in the corner? also you'll want a longer light

The only way I see it flooding is if both overflow strainers get blocked at the same time.
I would put airline into the overflow kinda like a durst to reduce noise and back siphoning. I'm cheap 😊 (or rather I don't want my wife freaking out), it would have to be a really low profile and inexpensive, if you know of any let me know.

Regarding the lighting. I do get a lot of spill with it over my 10 gallon. The new tank is twice as long. I was planning to place the sps directly below the light and then go out from there with light preference to low light species further away. I also only have the light at 30% white and 50% blue and am growing some sps now.
