Good question

The bodies are pretty much the same the difference is in the finer tuning the A series gives you slightly higher finish in controls and of course the DC pump which are very quiet.

It comes down to personal choice if you are a traditionalist and like the AC style pumps we are all used to (take into account the Rock pump is CSA electrically approved unlike multiple other brands) or you prefer the latest flavour in DC.

I would like to think in time DC will become the normal route over AC. for one it removes 110V from the water column.
