![]() Is there a standard for 4K TV?
There is no 4K standard. Right now, it's similar to the VHS vs Beta or HD vs BD battle. Probably beneficial to wait this out. |

![]() In most situations I can't even tell the difference between 720p and 1080p unless they are side by side. We have a 1080p TV and we shouldn't have bothered.

All 4k TV's will conform to these standards. The only battle going on is where your content will come from. Smart TV's that connect to Netflix directly can view 4k programs right now. Sony is still working on 4k capable bluray players which will probably be unveiled at this year's CES. And Rogers is currently testing 4k set top boxes for rollout in Ontario and Quebec this spring although the only thing you will be able to watch in 4k will be hockey night in Canada at first. |
