For Fish and Coral 100% I would support my local fish store. But for equipment when I'm spending thousands of dollars every $50 difference counts.

I think you're going to find that he variance from one lfs to another is pretty slight.

You might save a few bucks on one item at one, and a few on another at another.

If cost is a concern, you can always buy used.

Its actually ridiculous how many people just decide they want out of the hobby and aren't looking for a premium for goods.

Some items I'm thinking buying used but what is the life expectant like for a skimmer?.

Send a message to Dave@conceptaquariuns.ca if your getting a few items I'm sure he will hook you up plus they are in calgary you'll find your equipment here cheaper than most others in Canada

JL Aquatics and Reef Supplies are both good and carry a lot of different products from one another. Even when our dollar was on par I still found JL to be cheaper than the US by the time shipping was factored in. They both also have good websites and carry a wide variety of items.

120 gallon tank, 55 gallon sump no fish yet no coral yet, forgot how much the rock weighs lol.
