I have three, two large and one small, I've moved them around a lot even buried them in the sand completely, they will move within the sand bed and extend as much as they require according to the flow etc, best to leave them partially submerged in the sand bed and let them do what they do, my small one doesn't extend much at all but the two large ones extend approx 3 inches out of the sand bed. The coloured tentacles on the large ones are approx 4 to 5 " with a 1' diameter tube, the small one has 2" to 3" tentacles with 1/2" diameter tube, blah blah blah at the end of the day they are very hardy and will do their own thing. LOL

Love the look of these. I think my flow may be a bit much for them though.

agreed this nem is definitely not for a SPS dominant tank unless you have a HUGE setup.. I had to swab my MJ 1200 back to 600 for my return (29 Biocube) and had to use a light dimmer mod on my Jebao RW4 to cut down the flow. I just love the color neon green pink and green combo. because of my tank size I had to buy the smallest guy from the store. hopefully he will stay small he has long tentacles, therefore I have to kinda place him to the corner and make sure the flow is blowing the tentacles towards the glass so it doesn't sting any of my fish and coral.

in my experience they grow pretty fast and stung just about everything that went near it lol. I had a graveyard of dead snails around it so i decided to trade it. Prob still my all time favourite sea creature tho if it didnt try to kill everything.

hahaha... another reason I have him above the sand is because my spikefin goby is pretty dumb and my bluespot jawfish is blowing sand everywhere. I might have to get an bigger coco skeleton pretty soon.
