I won't store the ro water at exterior particularly the area underneath sunlight.
You need to consider if there is any possible speed growth of unwanted algae even you've a powerhead circulating the prepared water. The rapid changes of outdoor temperature is also a factor need to be considerated. Moreover, I'll use all the new ro water within a week rather than storing the water for more than 8 days. HTH

I used to use the Brute garbage cans with good success. For my new build I bought a couple 100 gal drums from Barr plastics.

I'm sure in the Vancouver area you can find one cheap, and I'm sure you will be able to tell it's not contaminated. I'm in Mississauga but I got mine cheap on CL and they had tomato juice in them. You could tell for many months, but it was just smell. In the summer you can put bleach in them and let it dry in the sun. Sometimes you can even get ones that were used for vinegar so washing it with vinegar won't effect it much.

It's just the smell that leaches into the plastic but after you use them a few times the smell goes away. I also drain my water change water into one and it helped wash away the smell. After several uses the smell goes away. These 55g drums are used so widespread there really isn't reason to pay full price for new ones.
