Check your tank after the lights have gone out and have a look for any small starfish. Might notice the odd one on the glass. If they look sort of like Astrea stars , They could be the coral eating variety.

Asterina? I do have them. Not many, but they are around the place. There were a couple attached to the bottom of the monti in the photo. From what I've understand, is they will eat the dead spots from corals, but not healthy tissue.

That's the only kind I've ever seen.

I googled acro eating starfish. As I recall, it was GARF a coral research /grower company that shows a tray full of them . There are other posts / pics aswell.
