![]() starting up my new 150 got the water temp up to 74 added salt last night cleared up in a couple hours . now when i got home from work tonight the tanks cloudy ? any sugestions i used kent that had been siting for 6 months

![]() Maybe that batch of salt had a very high Calcium trace in the salt.

![]() 1/2 ro the outher half well water . thats the problem my well is a little hard . could that be the problem and is there any easy remedy . will it clear up in time i want to transfer my 90 into it this weekend and if i use all the water from the 90 soo i dont have to cyle the tank . hopefully it will clear up .

![]() The hard water will likely cause some slight cloudiness. It will clear up after a few days, I'm sure.

![]() I find that when I use straight well water to make NSW, the harder water combined with the new salt, precipitates some of the calcium from the water. It first gets cloudy, then forms a precipitate on the sides of the container, pumps, etc.
Its very hard to remove from glass and acrylic. Best way to clear it up, is to run the water through floss to remove the precipitate.

![]() do you use a sofener or just strait well water . seing in the lowermainland i was always adding stuff to maintain hardness ,guess i dont have to now

![]() I dont use water from the softener, unless its passed through the ro unit first. I do use some harder water straight from the well, before the softener and ro unit. It does pass through a large main line filtration canister though.
