Did a snail get in there?
Can't see that happening on its own. Catastrophic failure? |

I did not fish any snails out of it. Just a spontaneous failure of catastrophic proportions. I did ask The Google and apparently they do sell replacements so I'm going to see if I can find a replacement needle wheel before I invest in a new skimmer. I really do like this skimmer. It has served me well. Other than the whole imploding thing.

Well, for about $150 US I can get a replacement impeller from a place in California, or for a bit more I can get a brand new Bubble Magus Curve 9 which is more or less an upgrade/replacement to my current outdated Bubble Magus 220CS. Decided to go with the new skimmer. Just waiting for my LFS (yes that's you guys over at CONCEPT AQUARIUMS) to get their shipment in.
In the meantime, I'm completely skimmerless (going on week 2 without now). Last edited by kien; 11-06-2014 at 01:26 AM. |
