I epoxied the magnet to the side and have it connected through the back glass. I didn't put the surface skimmer on but I'm thinking I might. I have the skimmer set back farther than the glass slates that the stock skimmer slid in to. I love how quiet the skimmer is!

I don't mean to ruin your tank journal but have you ever had heat problem on your RSM 130? Ever since I upgraded mine, I'm fighting with high temp. ( 84F-86F). Maybe it is my stock lighting..-.- how do you like your LEDs??

Not a problem. I wasnt having any heat issues with the stock lighting, however i did have heat issues during the summer. Didnt help the room the tank is in has 6 windows which are east and south facing. I had to foil 3 of them and leave a small fan blowing on the back filter area. Now that the heat is over there are no temp issues. I like my leds and the customization they offer. I kept the rsm fans and all seems well.

I am loving this skimmer. It is pulling skimmate like mad, which is expected because I spoil my fish. The stock skimmer pulled basically nothing, and this baby is a machine.
Coincidence or not (I think not) for the first time in almost 2 months the polyps on my needle in a haystack sps, and the tips of my toadstool are open. Also one of my nems split, so now I have three of the buggers running around my tank. The only thing not looking do hot is my green monti cap, which I think died when we were doing bathroom renos. =[

The collection cup is fine, it fits into the back just perfectly, and I like that the lid flips over and clips into the bottom so that no crud drips out as you move it to the sink.

The cup isn't a snug fit, but it sits fine in the top. As long as I keep an eye on it to make sure my water level doesn't rise above it, the cup not "clipping in" isn't an issue for me.

here are some really crappy phone pics of the tank. don't mind everything on the sand. I plan on mounting stuff once I sell two of the nems.
