![]() Can't seem to find anyone around here. Heading down to lower mainland next week. Suggestions where I can try to get my 20lb tanks refilled. Will probably need to do a hydro test also on both as I think they are overdue.
Thanks. |

![]() I use "Fairlane Fire Prevention" in North Burnaby. When I was looking around, they're prices were slightly higher than some others, but they are close to me, so convenience beat out saving a few dollars.
There's also another fire extinguisher place in New West, near King Ed's if you're heading out that way. Keep in mind, if you're getting it tested, they'll need to keep it overnight.

![]() I had mine hydro tested & filled in Kelowna a few years ago. Place used to be called Kost Fire Safety but are now part of Mircom. Don't recall the exact location, but it was in the north end somewhere. Charged a bit much for the refill, but I needed the hydrotest, so decided to let them fill it as well.
http://www.mircomes.com/Default.aspx...es.com/kelowna Before that I had it refilled at a paint ball retailer in Vernon. Great price, but not sure that dude knew what he was doing. Filling a large container is a bit different than a small paintball cylinder. I think he over pressurized my bottle. They've gone out of business anyhow, so not an option, but you might check out some similar businesses in Kelowna. Last fill was at a gun shop here in Vernon. He knows what he's doing & the price is right. Can't do a hydrotest though, so your bottle can't be expired. I don't have the address in my head, but I'll post it later if you wish. It's just up the street from the library downtown.

![]() Thanks Mike. I need the test so I'll have it done here if they still do it. Otherwise I'll get it tested in Vancouver. Not heading up to Vernon anytime soon but I will use them next time after I have the test done. Th paintball place here does it still I think but he was pretty expensive last time I asked.

![]() I found the transaction for the fill & hydrotest of my 10lb cylinder at Mircom in Kelowna. $103.04. Doesn't show what the split was, I think hydrotest was around $60. Last fill at gun shop in Vernon cost $35, so not that much different without the hydrotest. Only one person in the gun shop can do the refills so if your travelling from out of town, it's a good idea to confirm he's working that day. I recall the fellow at Mircom saying they are pretty much the only business qualified to do the hydrotest in our region.

![]() FWIW, last I asked hydrotesting was about $25. (5lb bottle, I would guess it should be a flat rate regardless of size.)

![]() Yeah, i was thinking that. But I guess that's what happens when you are the only one providing the service. I think I will bring them down next week and try. Thanks to everyone for their comments.
