My skimmer is also making lots of micro bubbles how do I tell it to stop besides unplugging it

Just let it run. You don't have any type of bio-load in your tank, so it's not going to that much
anyway. Once you add fish and rock, it will start pulling out organics, etc. I've used this
skimmer before and found it to be pretty good.
