Tried it myself, both lived...


Worse thing I can see happening is making the wrong cut on thru the nem.

Make sure its a sharp blade...or sharp scissors for perfect alignment. Make sure the surface you're cutting on is flat as possible.

don't do it poor nem. Mine just split right after i reworked my rock to catch a fish. I had six now i have eight. Maybe the stress of impending doom makes them split. i also had one split twice in a year i think because i was overfeeding it.

Yeah, I would rather force it to split by food/light/environment manipulation than cutting it.

For some reason, in my mind cutting it with a blade is like cutting a puppy in half.
