That's my concern as well as that side of the coral has a few dead polyps on it. I scrubbed the coral with a tooth brush before putting it in and I know it wasn't there then(at least not to this extent ) and that was only last Tuesday. So it's grown this much since then.

Oh it grows like wild fire. I to used a tooth brush on a daily basis finally I tossed the whole thing out as I did not want any of that stuff on any of my other rock. The zoas were dead and gone anyways as I could not keep it off them.

Although sponges are great for your tank. this particular stuff will kill the coral for sure .
Iv encountered it but had no success getting rid of it.
