Default Chiller Question

Hello.

I've been running my 1/2 hp chiller indoors for the past year. The chiller puts out a lot of heat which is cause for concern in the summer months. I was considering putting the chiller in my garage to avoid the heat issue. I know this wouldn't be an issue in the summer months but I am not sure about winter. Does anyone know what the lowest temperature a chiller can be housed in. I am sure my garage gets down to the freezing point or lower in the dead of winter.

Thanks,

Andy

If for some reason your power went out and you weren't home, the water in the chiller lines could freeze and crack the internal plumbing of the unit. I'd check with the manufacturer to be sure.

Good point Brad. Maybe I should just run the chiller in the garage during the summer months and move it inside for the winters. Save on heating costs that way too.
