![]() I agree with Brad. Most of my frags just go straight in. However there are some that are more sensitive and I try to be more careful with those.

![]() As best I can remember, I have never lost an SPS frag, except a couple that got knocked off and lost in the rock work. I even had a Hawkins Echinata (a very sensitive coral) frag buried in my sand for a few days in early Dec when I was away. I fished it out when I got back, and thought for sure was going to lose this one. But it survived and is growing nicely now. I did have some SPS frags that got bleached a bit and had to move to lower light levels, but they came back after that.
However, did lose some Chalices due to various reasons. Some due to too much light at first, and some due to warefare from other corals. But those were understandable. Also have had no luck with Zoas. Tried them twice and both times they melted. No sign of bugs, so no idea what the problem was. Palys do fine in my tanks, but not zoas for some reason. So have sworn off them for a while, at least.

![]() 99% … I have the random one that doesn't handle the dip process well and that would account for my 1% oddball deaths.
I don't acclimate coral either, I dip, remove from plug, cut off base of coral, dip again, and put it in the sandbed after being remounted. |

![]() So far I haven't lost a frag in this tank yet. I've lost corals to stupid mistakes, but everything I've lost was in my tank long enough to grow a bit before it cacked it for what was usually a known and acute reason, so I wouldn't count them in the tally. Nothing's straight up died in over a year now.
