The simplest and cheapest way is adding the media separably in mesh bags and have them in the sump next to the main drain (I don't recommend as the media needs a little tumbling)
The best way that I think is having individual reactors with a separate pump or teed of the main return pump.
After that there are few ways that I seen and practiced but not recommended for the long run.
