Honestly, I wouldn't be too concerned about your birdsnest
Mine looks like that and my tank is always @ 8-8.5 Alk and 390-420 Ca I have pieces in the base I can't remove ... such is life. I feel it's just a lack of light penetration but whatever. It doesn't affect the rest of the colony, and this is since last summer I assume when you say you are going away next saturday morning you mean a week from now ? As for the rest of your tank, and your params ... Just do your best to get them close to what you want before you go away and let it be Don't rush to raise your levels too much in one day, but try to get them where you need them before you leave. If not, don't panic 2 weeks without perfect levels isn't so bad If you're leaving tomorrow then you've got some work to do and some doser timing to deal with Good luck
