+1 to what everyone else said.

I have a healthy kryptonite brain that was mauled by my late purple tang, was basicly Skeleton with a bit of fleshy pieces left, a good 8 months later it looks like this


No feedings, just low flow and light,

There is still a small .5" sq piece on the edge of the skeleton that didn't grow back yet, but the rest def has.
So healing is possible if you baby it and wait long enough.

If it looks bad i would dip it, then give it good quality water and feed it as often as you can. It for sure will rebuild the tissue and it won't take as long as you think

I've brought a few brains back from the brink and as everyone else has stated keep the wound clean and keep it in medium to low flow with medium to low lights you can feed or let the light do the feeding depending on the severity of the wound it may not grow back over the skeleton that was exposed or it may expand. Keep an eye on it you should know within a couple of weeks which way your brain will go.

I also love bumblebee snails they helped with 2 of my brains survival when they were damaged by eating the dead and dying flesh but find what works for you as brains are delicate but are also hardier than you think
