What does the Mitra put out for power?

They'll connected to same power source with built-in timers & dimmer switches built into the custom Al heatsinks.

Looking at the guts of your Mitra - looks very complicated but I'm guessing its more an unplug old doohickey and plug in replacement upgraded doohickey.

And my vast knowledge of complex electronics terminology is another reason I just get my friend to build my lights for me

What size tank does this Mitra unit go over? Mine will be over a 2' cube & 30" 93g cube. Fortunately they'll both be set up close together enough to wire into one power source.

165 watts each I think .

Under $300 but think I got it for cost. As I was buying another mitra at the same time.

I should also note that the reason I upgraded was because I had one 6100 and one 6200 and they won't run master slave with the differant colour pucks. Now that I upgraded the one they work together.

omg 300 per light ouch. it's too bad the pucks themselves weren't modular on a per channel basis but that would prob be pretty tough to make.

Might be worth while once you have some decent millage on your fixture but before then I find it hard to justify the cost especially if the price you got was cost and you have more than one fixture to upgrade. While I agree upgrading current fixtures may be better than buying complete new fixtures, in the case of 6100 vs 6200 I just don't see much difference. You mentioned having spares as an advantage but they aren't compatible so really worthless to yourself or anyone with a 6200. Perhaps they have some value on the used market though (for those with 6100), although tough sell as I'm sure the current user base including myself isn't expecting premature failures from the GHL brand and would probably rather upgrade down the line rather than replacing existing.

Is the 6100 no longer available?

great call on the resale value. if i have issues down the road with a puck i'll be sure to ask around here for replacements.
