![]() I noticed this as well but the controller and transformer both run cool. If you plug the pump into the controller first and then plug the transformer into the wall it doesn't seem to occur.

![]() That's normal, it's an inrush of current into the pump, just unplug the power supply before plugging/unplugging the controller.
