if you get a chance to make your way into Vancouver, go to the Sunrise Market located at the corner of Powell Street and Gore Street.
They sell the bulk packs of straight Nori for less than $5. Package is maybe about an inch thick! Definitely cheaper to buy at Sunrise than LFS. Good luck!

most of nori for sushi wrap is fine for tangs.
I buy them at Asian supermarket all the time. I usually look for the cheapest.

Just make sure it is unsalted and unseasoned sushi wrap
Often times it is exactly the same just packaged differently and 10 times the cost
