I have been shocked numerous times throughout the yrs on various electrical appliances both in and out of the tank most notably heaters and bubble pumps from my fresh water days.

On a side note I am scared s*** less of electricity I was electrocuted when I was 18 on the service rigs in the oil fields had no feeling in my right side for almost a full day and it friggen hurt have been scared of electricity ever since.

you know its funny how many people have similar stories when it comes to getting a poke. yours reminds me of one i had at work changing a switch. was doing it live (dumb i know) in a university here in calgary. i was distracted for only a second. 277v hit my thumb and hand. it of course locked me on it had to pull my hand off by stepping back. but yes my arm was numb for the rest of the day. luckily i had no long term affects.
