Default F R E E _ C R A B - - One Day Only!!

This little beauty has shown great character and resilience to get this far, and will be given to the first person to respond! Must be picked up by Saturday, July 24th!

Measures approx 2.5" tip-to-tip.

(Thanks to Beverly for suggesting in an old thread the cable tie method of chasing him out of the rock.)

Hey Alan,

Could you briefly explain the cable tie method or direct me to that thread by Beverly for getting the crab out of the rocks.

I've got one that hitchhiked in on the rock from mnolls tank. He's awesome, deep burgundy smooth shelled body with big white fuzzy legs about 3" accross. No trouble so far, but I have no fish in there yet sooo when I get some he may have to go at the first sign of aggressiveness.

TIA

Scott

Hi Scott, I remember her having a bit of trouble with some HH crabs, and found her quote here:
http://www.canreef.com/phpBB2/viewto...ighlight=crabs

The interesting bit:
Quote:
Used a cable tie to poke at him from holes in the top of the rock and he quickly crawled out and we caught it.
It worked really well, didn't even have to take the rock out of the tank. Of course, there are a LOT of large holes in the piece, and I could see him dodging me, then scurrying for it.

Alan, did that guy come out of my rock? I had one just like it but I thought he was in one of the rocks that was in my tank during the time it crashed.
