I thought about doing that but noticed 2 problems. The pick-up tube on the pump needs to be fully submerged to begin suction...and that thing pushes out alot more water than I'd need it to

clear hose, mouth suction, and a bucket-that's how i clean my tanks;i also use various sizes of hose

Yeah it would. You'd finish your vacuuming in about eight seconds...
I have the ehiem power vac too. Too much suction to use it on my sand but for cleaning out a sump it's perfect. |
