Hmm, good question. I have no clue. I would either offer it for free on Canreef or Kijiji, or call around to glass shops to see if they will take it. Presumably they do something with their glass scraps ?

Cracked tanks are great to rip apart and use for scape glass for building sumps thats for sure.

I tried to cut off the silicon but seems like too much work for something that I might not need anytime soon. Possibly will post in kijiji to see whether someone is interested.

I tried googling and people suggested to smash the glass and put it in a bag and throw it in the blue bin. I really don't like splinters

That's also very dangerous for the sorting people at the facilities.. I would see what glass shops do with old glass. Maybe text Dave/Denny and ask them.
