Off the City of Edmonton Website for 2012 Salary Range and Benefits The rates quoted are in accordance with the collective agreement between the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 569 and the City of Edmonton. Current (2013) rates of pay are: Training Rate - $20.65 per hour Post Training Rate - $25.39 to $31.74 per hour This is a permanent position with a probationary period of up to 6 months. Benefits will begin 90 days after your start date. It may have been a little of an exaggeration but I believe the EMT starting wage is around 26$ an hour so it maybe not be more but its close! Also my understanding is most EMTs are just technicians and not actual paramedics and there's big difference between the two which could explain why EMT starting wages aren't great. |
