![]() I get concerned when my tank hits 82 or so, it hasnt done that since we moved into our house 4 years ago. When it gets up around 86 I start to go into panic mode and investigate potential causes. Last time it was a skimmer pump with a seized impeller that shot up the temp. Lucky we have ac and a very cold basement so we dont have any problems with summer temperatures. I'm actually more likely to have problems at the other end of the temperature scale and had to add a 2nd heater...

![]() Bumping this thread because it was warm here in the GVRD today. My tank got up to 78.8... not quite worried yet, but I am starting to think about the summer days ahead. Maybe it's time to get a chiller.

![]() I mean I guess I could try this, but if it doesn't keep the temp down and I go to J&L to get a chiller and find out they are sold out then I guess my only option is bags of ice lol.

![]() When I fire up my wood stove downstairs in the winter, my tank bumps up to just shy of 81. I normally keep it around 77-78. I haven't noticed any ill effects from that much temp rise.
