| Quote: BTW this skimmer is rated for 250 gallon heavy bioload, won't it be a bit under rated for the gigantic size of your system?

| The dc5500S pump flows 5500 liters or 1453 gals per hr & 2400 liters or 634 gal per hour of air which will be a turn over of almost 3 times an hr on my new system. Sounds pretty damn good to me & skimmer king.

| Greg, I'm sure you'll be OK with your choice, and I don't want to get in the middle of this capacity discussion, but all I can find on the web states 'up to' 500G With that said ... With a skimmer of this quality, I'm sure it will be fine for a heavy load. Not like a cheap skimmer where you cut the rating in half I find info that states up to a whopping 2400lph of air flow, so I'd say you're good to go dude |

| Not to mention that the body design is much different then every other skimmer out there with the turbulence reducing wine glass shape.

And the best part: DC I was just confused about that rating and hence the post. Looking forward to a thread of that skimmer's review from you
